Aluminum alloy has a serious tendency of oxidation and aspiration, and the holes in the surface or interior of the casting caused by the gas string in the solidification process of metal liquid are called pores. The most common is the pinhole.
Pinhole, usually refers to the exhalation pores less than 1mm in the casting, which are mostly circular and non-uniform in the entire section of the casting, especially in the thick section and the part with low cooling rate.
The fine pores do not affect the mechanical properties of the casting, but the air bubbles with large particles will greatly reduce the anti-punching performance of the casting. When the surface pores of the casting are treated, they will be filled with water. After painting or electroplating, the air in the hole will expand to air bubbles.
